GUITARS
Today I primarily focus on building my Butterfly Models 1 and 2. The body shape of these guitars is a direct influence from an early Sobell ‘Butterfly’ prototype that became my first hand built guitar. With Stefan Sobell’s encouragement through the years, my love for this ‘Butterfly’ shape, and a few years of creative thinking and designing, I have created a versatile acoustic guitar that as a dedicated player, I am truly passionate about. My Butterfly, with it’s carefully selected German or Red Spruce tops, short body length and thin profile, it’s tight waist, and wide lower bout, is made to be extremely comfortable while at the same time yielding a big and sonorous voice.
In the distant future I will be completing a prototype inspired by the guitar Ken DuBourg built that Michael Hedges owned and recorded with.
